LOW POWER L.E.D. LIGHTS FOR WEAVERS

 

REQUIREMENT

 

Hand loom weaving of sarees, textiles , cloth etc. is an intricate process. The process of matching designs, checking the weave pattern etc require the weaving area to be lit. Weavers used to use filament lamps or Flourecent tubes both of which required a lot of electricity. Regular availability of electricity was an issue with several weavers specially for those based in rural areas. Keeping in view all the above needs a LED light light with a special optics was designed, this light unit provides excellent illumination,  consumes very low power of just 6 watts as compared to 40 Watts FL tube, can operate on solar or grid charged batteries providing back up in event of power failure and also is a very low cost solution.

 

TARGET AREA / POPULATION

 

The target area for this system is for weavers and similar artisans specially in rural areas.

  • Designing of optimal LED array for limited area illumination

  • Designing of luminary and optics to guide light to illuminate the work area.

  • Designing LED color rendering index to provide 'true' color illumination.

  • Designing of drivers to opertae on multiple energy inputs of battery, solar or grid.
