SOLAR POWERED PORTABLE WOOL SPINNING

REQUIREMENT

Sheep tending is a major source of income across India especially in rural areas. Sheep are reared for their meat, wool and other resources. Wool is a recurring source for the shepards and also a source of recurring income. 

Wool is sheared from the sheep and then sold in nearby markets for various uses. The shepards expressed that if the sheared wool could be spun into yarn then the return on produce is higher and also the volume reduces drastically for transport. To meet this requirement a small portable spinning machine was designed to help spin wool 'on field' only without transporting the sheared wool. The machine is fully portable and operates from a small solar panel making it fully independent of power.
