REQUIREMENT

 

Rural health centres have been established in many rural areas of India. They cater to the rural population. Medical diagnosis and treatments largely depend on electrical power. In procedures like surgery and patient care electricity is a critical requirement and absence of this may lead to fatal outcomes. A system to use solar energy after storing it was designed to provide ‘mobile’ and ‘fixed’ electrical power on demand. Solar was coupled with electricity to form a hybrid reliable form of power availability. The power packs are designed to be rugged, mobile and have least operational costs and service for a long period of time.

 

TARGET AREA / POPULATION

 

The target area for these system are in health centres located in remote and difficult areas.

 

INNOVATION and DESIGN FACTOR

 

The innovation factor in the system are ;

 

  • Design of a rugged power pack to withstand voltage fluctuations in grid while storing grid electricity.

  • Provide clean power to ensure safety of sensitive medical gadgets.

  • Provide adequate availability of power to conduct critical procedures with availability of reserve power to conclude a procedure.

  • To provide as system having very low mean time between failures and also be user maintainable.

  • Construction out of sterile material like SS in most exposed parts.
